Hey there! My name is Trey. I've been playing guitar since I was about 13. Along the way I composed soundtracks for indie video games (LIGHT: Path of the Archmage), placed as a runner-up in Toontrack's 2017 Drumception songwriting competition (judged by Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren), and performed across Texas with more bands than I can count — including local Arlington band: Suite Sensations, who won first place at Grand Prairie's Main Street Fest battle of the bands, and played local festivals including the Deep Ellum Arts Festival.

I studied at McLennan Community College, earning two Associate of Applied Science degrees — one in Commercial Music Performance (guitar) and one in Commercial Music Songwriting — and was named Songwriting Student of the Year in 2011. I also spent time at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco studying Music Production and Sound Design for Visual Media.

I teach because I genuinely think music changes people, and I've seen it happen. Playing my guitar got me through some of the toughest spots in my life.

My goal with every student is simple: find the thing that makes you want to pick up the instrument, and build from there. Technique matters, but passion is what keeps you playing twenty years later.

My advice to aspiring musicians comes from Joe Satriani: "don't play if it hurts." It reminds me that things which require practice also deserve time for rest.
